Farewell Charlie

Charles Nesbitt Wilson aka Charlie Wilson has passed away from awhile ago in Texas. The Texan democratic representative in the American congress who earned world fame thanks to Tom Hanks' film about him was for sure from the most dangerous men who played in the background of world politics. CharlieWilson

Thanks to Charlie Wilson's film we knew back in Egypt how we played a role in operation Cyclone in a way any Egyptian would be angry from despite how noble the cause was to help a Muslim nation from trouble.

I wished that Charlie Wilson came to Cairo alone with photos and videos showing it to his friend late Abu Ghazala "May Allah bless his soul"and also President Mubarak along with other leaders in the region to get arms and funding more than he could imagine. I wished that and I do not if it was because he was the notorious Charlie or because he knew that this was only way to get what he wanted !!

Abu Ghazala passed away without saying his word in what his old friend Charlie mentioned about him in his book and Charlie left without defending himself in the other part of the world where he was accused of defaming a man many believed he could save this country according to them. The truth for  sure is not buried with them despite it seems so.

Anyhow both men had helped in some way or another in saving a misfortunate nation even for a short limited time.

  1. His book is in my books to buy list but according to the movie he actually manages to get Egypt, KSA and Israel to help the Afghani cause :D didnt like the weird belly dancer scene in the movie seemed too much of a Hollywood cliche for Arab men and insulting to our army generals.

  2. @anonymous unfortunately the belly dancer scene was not fictional , check my link and Dr. Yasser Thabat's posts about the whole issue.
It is insulting for sure not for the army generals but for us all
